Walk the Walk:
Outside the office, I practice what I preach…. at least as often as I can. (Believe me it’s tough some days.) Usually, I travel less than a mile down the road, twice a week, and “trade” adjustments with a good friend of mine. I often leave his office not knowing how people live their lives without the simplicity of a well-timed and well-delivered chiropractic adjustment. The simple answer is that some have never experienced the power of the adjustment, and simply don’t know how they should feel or function.

I work out with weights usually 3x/week, and most days complimented with some type of cardio workout such as running (well jogging in my case), elliptical, or just running after my kids. When possible, I also incorporate yoga.
Nutritionally speaking, I rarely take medications and I am a firm believer that proper nutrition can be the most important part of our overall health and well being. I am not a vegan or even a vegetarian but I do try to limit my intake of meat, especially red meat, and focus on whole food sources. Many a times I look forward to a great salad bar. In addition to trying to eat healthy, I do take supplements such as a daily multivitamin, fiber in the form of psyllium husk, omega-3 oils, and some type of joint lubricant (depending on how heavy my workouts are), such as glucosamine and chondroitin.
I realize it can all be very overwhelming, so my advice is to just add one thing at a time into your life, and start with the things that will produce the biggest return. My approach is to have six good days a week where my choices are healthy and then one day which can be my “cheat” day. I find that has been a healthy approach for me both physically and mentally. (Please note that my approach may not be a good one for somebody who is already battling diabetes or some other disease process.)
