Regular Visits

A typical visit at Blue Ridge Chiropractic includes a three-step process that takes about 15 - 30 minutes.  (This time can be longer or shorter depending on the severity of conditions and/or the patient’s time available.  If he/she only has time for an adjustment, the office visit will take about 3-5 minutes.)

After sign in, patients immediately begin prescribed posture exercises.Step 1:   Postural exercises.  After sign in, patients immediately begin prescribed posture exercises. We concentrate on rebalancing muscles and thus restoring normal muscle functioning through the use of mirror-image posture exercises.   The exercises also loosen muscles so it will adjust easier and accept the benefits of the adjustment better.

Step 2:  Adjustments.  Once the joints and muscles are warmed up, the patient is then asked to lie down on the adjusting bench, usually face down, in order to get the spine out of gravity.  Most spines need a minimum of 60 seconds to relax and take the pressure off of the affected areas.  Your spine is then ready to receive an adjustment.

We restore proper nerve flow and communication through efficient chiropractic adjustments and drop mirror image posture adjustments, which work on restoring balance and normal joint mechanics which lead to regaining normal postures.

After an adjustment, we prescribe each patient with an individualized spinal joint and ligament rehabilitation program.Step 3:  Rehabilitation.  After an adjustment, we prescribe each patient with an individualized spinal joint and ligament rehabilitation program utilizing CBP (chiropractic bio-physics) corrective traction rehabilitation protocols.  These protocols were designed to not only change the shape of the ligaments holding the spine in place but ultimately to help the adjustments hold longer.  This step is extremely important as it opens communication channels of the nervous system for longer intervals and ultimately forces the body to begin healing stress affected areas.

The abovementioned rehabilitation techniques are unique to Blue Ridge Chiropractic and are not offered in any other chiropractic office in Western North Carolina.  This is important because only at BRC can you expect to make long term improvements by stabilizing the spine into its NORMAL balanced position based upon published medical standards, which confirm the most beneficial position of the spine.
