Renew To Better Heath

Massage therapy in Asheville

At Blue Ridge Chiropractic we know that good health depends upon a properly functioning nervous system.  Spine health can be achieved by chiropractic maintenance of the spinal column, discs, and related nerves.

We also know that spinal health largely depends on the muscles and ligaments that support the spine.

Massage therapy melts away stress and tension and works with chiropractic in relieving headaches, neck pain, back pain and muscle tightness.  Our massage therapists combine many different techniques to offer our clients the highest quality bodywork available.

BRC SPOT REMEDY:

A personalized and targeted therapeutic muscle massage combining several techniques to alleviate tension and knots in problem areas of the body. (These massages are offered as part of our CBP Rehabilitation Circuit in 15 min. sessions OR they can be performed for 30 – 90 minutes in our massage room.)

TRADITIONAL SWEDISH MASSAGE:

A classic favorite using kneading, gliding strokes, and light to moderate pressure to facilitate and induce the relaxation response, improve circulation, decrease muscle tension, and improve range of motion.

DEEP TISSUE:

Deep Tissue massage uses slow strokes and deep pressure across the grain of the tense muscles. It is applied with more pressure and to deeper layers of muscle than Swedish massage. There is evidence that deep tissue massage helps break up and eliminate scar tissue.

Sports Massage in AshevilleSPORTS MASSAGE:

Sports Massage is used primarily for the serious athlete who trains continuously. It is a practical, specific application of Swedish massage, compressions, deep tissue work, cross-fiber friction, and range of motion movement on the muscles relevant to the particular athletic activity. Sports Massage yields immediate, significant, and verifiable positive results in sports performance, delayed-onset muscle soreness, and injury rehabilitation.

HOT STONE MASSAGE:

Allow the penetrating warmth of smooth heated basalt stones to penetrate deep into weary muscles as they glide and dance across the body, leaving warmth and total relaxation in their wake.

MATERNITY MASSAGE*:

massage in AshevilleDesigned specifically for the expecting mother, this treatment provides both relaxation, as well as relief from many of the discomforts, aches and pains that accompany the joy of pregnancy.  Massage therapy during pregnancy can enhance the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and provide relief from mental and physical fatigue. Our therapists utilize the appropriate strokes and positioning to provide comfort for you and protection for your baby.

*As beneficial as it is, pregnancy massage does not replace the need for appropriate medical and/or prenatal care. Talk to your healthcare provider before pursuing massage therapy during your prenatal and postpartum period.

MASSAGE ENHANCEMENTS:

REFLEXOLOGY:

Reflexology in AshevilleReflexology follows the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears that correspond to every organ, gland or muscular/skeletal part of the body. Gentle pressure is applied to these reflex points in order to help promote normalization of body functions. Reflexology treats the body holistically and can be considered as a very useful complementary therapy.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE:

A rhythmically structured gentle massage aimed at the lymphatic system to facilitate speedy removal of excess fluids, toxins, accumulated medication residue and other chemicals that are lodged in the body's tissues.
